pam

Hi, my name is
pam!

And pamdishes is my little corner of the internet!

I launched pamdishes in the spring of 2016 while I was still working full‑time as a graphic designer in Portland. I’d been cooking for myself since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a rainy night in March 2015 that I realized I could turn my kitchen experiments into something worth sharing. I started by posting a single recipe for my “one‑pot lemon chicken” on a modest WordPress blog, and the response was surprisingly warm.

Fast‑forward to today, pamdishes has grown into a small but thriving food community. As of December 2024 we publish more than 200 tested recipes, ranging from quick weeknight meals to holiday feasts. The site now averages 18 000 unique visitors a month, and I’ve released two digital cookbooks—“Everyday Comforts” (2021) and “Seasonal Harvest” (2023)—that together have sold over 4 500 copies. I also host a monthly newsletter that reaches 7 200 subscribers who love the behind‑the‑scenes stories that come with each dish.

I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband Mark and our two kids, Lily (7) and Jonah (4). When I’m not whisking, sautéing, or snapping photos for the blog, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, hunting for the perfect pour‑over coffee, or digging through my grandma’s vintage record collection on a Sunday afternoon. One quirky habit I’ve kept from my early cooking days is still using my grandma’s 12‑inch cast‑iron skillet for everything—from searing steaks to baking cornbread.

If you’ve ever felt the joy of pulling a steaming bowl of soup out of the oven or the satisfaction of a perfectly caramelized onion, you’re in the right place. I’m grateful you stopped by, and I hope you’ll stick around long enough to find a recipe that feels like it was made just for you.
